Hello Everyone,

I wanted to take a minute to say hello to you all! I'm excited that you're here. I started this newsletter to interact with other EDUCATORS and to share encouragement and inspiration. And here we are for the 271st Virtual Teacher Newsletter! And I think it is the best one yet!!

I guide kids through a brainstorming adventure, teaching them to harness their collective creativity. By using an interactive whiteboard, we bring ideas to life, save them to a computer, and then share them via Google Drive.
The kids can then pick their favourite images, describe the characters, and justify their choices. Join us in this creative journey where imagination knows no bounds!"

After a couple of recent playground discussions, this visual aid is a great frame discussions.
THE GAME
"WHAT ARE WE DOING TODAY?"

Starts with
I predict..........."
My evidence is........................"
Might go like this
I predict we will be using the iPads and Spheros to make a track and my evidence is -
It's written on the day plan
The iPads are out
There is a Sphero video on the EWB
Mrs X(the technology teacher) is here and we used iPads with her.
The Spheros are here
There is masking tape and scissors over there.
I expect at least 5 pieces of evidence. This can be done quickly with K-6. Often ES1 does extremely well. Providing evidence for their predictions and assumptions is Splendid Training.
Reference to the Hierarchy pyramid is an interesting way to resolve playground disputes.

Is a splendid short essay from Aneesh Raman and Maria Flynn worth reading.
"A.I. could usher in a world of work that is anchored MORE, not less, around human ability”,
How does this apply to education?
It will transform educational systems, teacher training and student learning.
The question becomes: What does AI DO WELL,
and WHAT DO HUMANS DO THAT AI CAN'T.
Let the AI do what it does, and let the humans learn to be great at everything else. The everything else, includes, people skills, social abilities, ideas, creativity, prompting, questioning etc.
After reading this essay there is a clear direction forward for the future of learning.
We need to start from a place where we IMAGINE what's possible.
