Hello Everyone,
I hope you're having a great day today!
I had some fun this week with........
The New York Times Daily Maths Puzzle. A great little starter excercise and very addictive. Play it while it's FREE.
LOVED the Wright Brothers joke, I think this is pretty much what happens with kids, if you give them the reins, they take it personally and belt it out of the park.
The HOTTEST new activity - SPEND BILL GATES' money. Set the targets, get predictions, watch the place values. So much fun.
WATCH the MAGiC with Canva and Curipod - 10x your result and 75% less planning time.
A big thank you to everyone who's supporting my work by subscribing to Virtual Teacher, if you enjoy VT then share it with a friend or 7 or 8. Here's the link to Virtual teacher just click and subscribe. FREE FOREVER

Have a great week, whatever you're getting up to.

Cathy

MATHS

Particularly

Conrad Wolfram: Teaching kids real math with computers.
Maths is MORE IMPORTANT to the world than in any other time in history. From rockets to stock markets, many of humanity's most thrilling creations are powered by math. So why do kids lose interest in it?

Conrad Wolfram says the part of math we teach - calculation by hand - isn't just tedious, it's mostly irrelevant to real mathematics and the real world. He presents his radical idea: teaching kids math through computer programming.

My Kiddos learned some much from this Regular Polygon Maker on Wolfram Alpha. Watch how a triangle becomes a circle by adding sides.
You can ownload it onto an iPad or a computer. It made quite the impact.
