The VT Christmas page is up and running, newly updated. The NRICH advent calendar for Primary maths - some splendid quick tasks and the Norad Santa tracker, great for Stage 3 - even the skeptics. I love the Santa TV - it is splendid.  AURORA BOREALIS & the GREEN LANTERN From the archive: I had been showing my students K-6 some of the fabulous videos on Santa Television and also videos from the Santa village showing the Aurora Borealis - Northern Lights - links are available from the Christmas page on VT An explanation for these lights is given at How Stuff Works However a group of my kindergarten lads had an entirely different explanation. They were very excited at seeing this Nothern Lights and explained that this was where the GREEN LANTERN must live. A superhero who is incredibly popular with 5 year olds. They went on to discuss this and felt it was a very good idea to have a superhero in Lapland looking after SANTA and his Village. Of course the non SANTA believers in in the group thought it was an equally good idea for the GREEN LANTERN to live in Lapland, because even if you don't believe in SANTA it's good to know someone is up there looking after the presents. And although a few of the 5 year olds doubted the existence of Santa, they were all quite short that the GREEN LANTERN was real. WHAT WONDERFUL IMAGINATIONS

Check out some of the STEM Tutorial Playlist videos on the Virtual Teacher Youtube Channel. these have been AMAZING during LOCKDOWN. Work can be set with Casual staff using them and also done at home by thw whole family. Lately we have been loving doing KAHOOTS! Setting the challanges so kiddos can work on them at home. And also using them as part of a zoom meeting. Start with the FREE version so you can get the feel of it. Here's my HOWTO Video on how to make a KAHOOT!. Simple easy and straight to the point.
