What is the definition for a Successful Teacher ?
|

Hello Everyone,
As long as I have been teaching the thrill of seeing students loving learning, watching them switch on and engage, "getting it" has always been the hook.
I love seeing students as they take control and work on new ideas, as they work things out and think to themselves "how clever am !"
as you awaken possibilites within them. As a teacher how do you know you are doing this.....
You know how you find out? You look at their eyes. If their eyes are shining, you know you're doing it.
If the eyes are not shining, you get to ask a question. And this is the question: who am I being, that my players' eyes are not shining? We can do that with our children, too. Who am I being, that my children's eyes are not shining?

And What is the definition for a Successful Teacher ?
And you know, I have a definition of success. For me, it's very simple. It's not about wealth and fame and power. It's about how many shining eyes I have around me.

Renowned paleontologist Jack Horner has spent his career trying to reconstruct a dinosaur. He's found fossils with extraordinarily well-preserved blood vessels and soft tissues, but never intact DNA. So, in a new approach, he's taking living descendants of the dinosaur (chickens) and genetically engineering them to reactivate ancestral traits — including teeth, tails, and even hands — to make a "Chickenosaurus."
