Hello everyone
This issue is all about libraries. What does the future hold for our libraries? What do you think? Will DEWEY survive as libraries become more user friendly and internet resources and worldwide collaboration become more important.
Yesterday's libraries, tomorrow's libraries - 12 difference
1. Yesterday's libraries were all about books.
Tomorrow's libraries will be all about readers.
What do you think?
Australia was the most popular page on Virtual Teacher last week followed by CHEERS, which is great for staff meetings to help set priorities then The STARFISH Story, one of my personal favourites.
What's your favourite VT page?

Judge a man by his questions rather than by his answers. ~ Voltaire
I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, it's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. ~~ Ted Geisel, children's book author also known as Dr. Seuss
For every sound your ears are hearing
A thousand thoughts can start appearing!
And each of us imagines different things
From just a sound, your mind has wings!

WELCOME to the LIBRARY of the FUTURE
This isn't your childhood library. Take a look at the Video and article. The Hunt Library at North Carolina State University is beautiful. The main floor looks more like a sleek Apple showroom than a stuffy library. And instead of a Genius Bar, there's an Ask Me alcove, where you can get help on everything from laptops to flash drives.
Take a Look at it.

To DEWEY or NOT to DEWEY
DEWEY is SIMPLE
If you can count and know what alphabetical order then you already know how to use the Dewey system. Look up the books or the subject areas in your library computer or use googleto find the number.
KILL DEWEY
Libararies are experimenting with new clasifications systems. Declaring it not user friendly.
WHAT DO YOU THINK? Will DEWEY Survive?

Cathy,
Many years ago I met another gardening teacher through Virtual Teacher. We've been fast friends since, sharing not only gardening but GPS/Geocaching and general Science curriculums. Her website is vast and fabulous. Find Tracy at: http://www.sciencespot.net
Enjoy!
Nancy
Thanks Nancy. What do you think of Tracey's site?

This Newsletter is not free, despite the misleading advertising above. The Fee is now due. Each week you must help one colleague on the Internet who has less knowledge than you.Help that person even if you have to visit their classroom or do a little research and get back to them. Trust me, this will help a lot of people get their computer classrooms running better. OK I'm trusting you!!!
